To be honest, I’ve been struggling to end procrastination in the last 4 years and because of my “putting things off” habit, I never found the time or motivation to achieve my dreams (setting up a business is one of them).

Sure, there would be days where I’ll be pumped up and motivated to get things done, but those days are very rare.

On most of the evenings, I would find myself switching on the television or playing my computer games, instead of doing something productive. As a result, I never got anywhere near my financial goals.

The book that changed my life and how I finally beat procrastination…

A few years back, as a kind of “last stab” at attempting to eliminate procrastination, I bought this book online.

I remember it like it was yesterday…

I found it after doing a search on Google for something like “how to avoid procrastination”. After some time, I stumbled across this guide… this manual on how to avoid laziness and achieving success in life.

It had so many great success stories (check them out on the site by clicking here – they’re unbelievable) that I bought it right away.

I literally stayed up the whole night reading it cover to cover. It blew me away.  The program was like a step by step guide power-packed with activities and ways to stop procrastination and help you overcome any obstacle in your life (not just procrastination). I’ve never seen anything like it.

It offers a comprehensive, thorough, and easy-to-follow description of the actual techniques that are necessary to accomplish any goals you have in mind. It’s also an extensive workbook filled with real case studies (and illustrations) of successful people that helps the reader to put all those techniques to use right away.

Today, it’s still the best book (and I’ve bought quite a few since then) on personal motivation and achieving goals.

So just to summarize this short post, overcoming procrastination is a lot easier than you think. If you are serious in achieving more in life, I recommend you to get the guide since it helped me a lot anyway.

In order for us to find out the solution for avoiding the habit of procrastinating, we first need to know the actual causes of procrastination.

I was one of the many people who wanted to stop procrastinating, yet couldn’t seem to find a way to stop it at the same time.

If you are just like me, I surely feel for you.

Before, I was always keeping myself distracted from the things I should be doing. I always thought that they weren’t that important, and I might fail on it anyway. Yeah, you can say it; I was procrastinating big time! I made everyone get disappointed on me, and honestly I really felt bad about it… but I really couldn’t find ways to stop procrastination.

It was like that until I talked to my college counselor about it. She told me that one of the most common causes of procrastination is perfectionism.

I actually didn’t believe her at first because I was really in no way trying to be perfect. Then, she explained to me that when the task is there, I actually had a plan to do it, but I just spend my time trying to imagine it getting perfectly finished.

I was actually amazed by what she said, and realized it was true.

She told me that I needed to find a way to stop perfectionism. Another thing that is causing my “do-it-later” habit is because of laziness. I know this because I am really lazy at doing tasks; my bad.

My counselor told me that if I really want to succeed in life, I need to find a way on how to overcome laziness. She gave me pointers on how to avoid it, and that a better time management can really help.

From then on, I found ways on how to avoid laziness, and I slowly refrained from any kinds of procrastinations.

I now graduated from college and started a career. I am really thankful for my college counselor for discussing me about the causes of procrastination, and giving me helpful tips on overcoming them.

Whenever we are in the middle of work, we always have to find ways on how to avoid procrastination, which needs to be applied whether on finishing a project, or doing homework.

When I was younger, it was difficult for me to eliminate procrastination because there were so many distractions around me. Even though I started well on doing my work, there were always things that caught my attention.

Because of this, I failed into meeting deadlines, and I felt really bad about it because I couldn’t find a way to stop my bad habits. That was the time when I decided to finally end procrastination in any way possible.

I started out by researching in the internet about the ways on how to avoid procrastination. I first researched about why do people procrastinate, and I found out that all procrastinations are actually caused by laziness.

I read that when people get tired or bored with their activity, they try to find ways to pause from their work and start thinking about doing something else. It made me realize that in order for me to finally stop procrastination; I need to first find ways on how to stop laziness.

I listed the things that are making me feel lazy and tried to overcome them. Whenever I feel like stopping from my task, I try to recall all those failed projects I had and how guilty they made me felt.

By doing that, it makes me think twice in trying to do something else. Now I’m really glad that I found effective ways on how to avoid procrastination, and I’ve been finishing all my work on time ever since.
